This company was established in 1985 as Mission Viejo Raingutter. Jerry VanDerMark assumed management in 1990. In 2002 Jerry and partner, Michele Vastyshak, incorporated the business and changed the name to Rainstoppers Inc. At that time we added a limited amount of architectural sheet metal to our scope of work.
Standing seam roofing is available in natural copper and painted steel. Most roofing companies do not have technicians that have been trained to install this type of roof. It is not a typical style of roof. Our technicians have completed the Titan Roofing System Installation School. We stay updated through our local supplier on any changes in the industry.
Rainstoppers has been fabricating and installing sheet metal products in the coastal Orange County area for the last two decades. Including, but not limited to; roof metals, deck metals, window and door flashings, fireplace caps and shrouds, fascia cladding and foundation metals. Our technicians are experienced in working at a marine environment. The type of metals and fasteners used are more important than inland areas. Just using the wrong type of fastener can ruin a large project.
We carry all necessary auto, work comp and liability insurances. More home improvement and construction companies are dropping insurance due to costs. Home owners are at risk with these firms. We can provide insurance certificates before starting a job upon request. We even have an inclusion for multi unit buildings in our liability policy. This allows coverage for condominiums and apartments which most policies do not include

This company was established in 1985 as Mission Viejo Raingutter. Jerry VanDerMark assumed management in 1990. In 2002 Jerry and partner, Michele Vastyshak, incorporated the business and changed the name to Rainstoppers Inc. Jerry VanDerMark has over 30 years experience in the roofing, raingutter and sheet metal industry. Production supervisor Wesley Whitney has been with us for over 15years, working his way up from a trainee position. Richard Fernandex, our lead sales representative, has been with our company over 12 years. All of this experience is the main reason that we are able to maintain our quality.
Raingutter installation is still the main focus of Rainstoppers. We install copper, aluminum and some steel raingutters and downspouts with our specialty being copper. By having a sheet metal shop we are able to do custom work that most seamless raingutter companies cannot perform.
Rainstoppers does not subcontract any installations. All work is performed by our own technicians. Our top 2 lead installers have both been with Rainstoppers 8 – 10 years.
For sheet metal installation, we stay in the Central Orange County Coastal area only. For raingutter installations we cover about a 25 mile radius of Costa Mesa. For larger jobs we will travel farther.
Rainstoppers carries all necessary insurances. Our liability policy has an inclusion for multi unit buildings (apartments and condominiums). Most basic liability policies are for single family homes only. A simple insurance certificate will not state that information unless requested. Even most property managers do not request this information.
We take special precautions when working in a marine environment. We install additional fasteners when working in high wind areas. We use levels to ensure that the raingutter is properly sloped to prevent clogs and overflows.
The raingutter industry is loaded with inexperienced firms using trainees for installers. Most do not carry insurance. This is the type of company that provides you with a low price, bad service and probably will not be in business when you call them for a repair. Rainstoppers stands behind their work and is reasonably priced with a proven track record of excellent service.
